This beer is one of the finest Mexican beers hands down. Yes, it has a Mexican label and it is indeed an import but, Negra Modelo is in fact a Bavarian recipe beer. It has a wonderful aroma, rich flavor, not overly filling as so many dark beers are and it has a nice finish…no bitter after taste at all. This is one of my favorite beers to drink. I also use this beer in my Carne Guisada recipe….only one beer though. The other 5 are consumed in series.

This is a strong 4 star beer.

@Willie – Thanks for commenting! I wouldn’t give it 5 stars (I didn’t!) but I would say it’s a good beer and I’d happily have it again.

This is one of the best beers i have tasted in a long time. I think this is a 5 star beer.

I agree Negra Modelo is a good beer, although really hard to find fresh. Without a “skunky” smell and taste.

Does anyone know of any local restaurant that I can go out to eat in AND order a NEGRA MODELO to drink with dinner? I live in West Chester, PA.

You need to try Indio or Bohemia !!!! thats the best Mexican beer!
