@Thomas - yeah, I think they changed the naming convention from Full Moon to Winter Abbey or something. Not sure if its the same beer with a new name or if its something new. Haven't had any Blue Moon (anything) in some time now! I didn't think this beer was awful, it just didn't do anything for me.

Wow, these reviews seem pretty hard - I actaully like Full Moon (which name was changed to Winter Abbey Ale, I think). Though I see this as yet another attempt to compete with Sam Adams' Seasonal Beers I think its a pretty good brew. Maybe the noticeable Molassas flavor is too outstanding for most but I like it! I guess Sam's Winter Lager is my favorite winter seasonal but Full Moon/Winter Abbey Ale is a close runner up.

Nate, that's a great idea actually! There's nothing horrible about this beer, but nothing really great about it either. If I had to describe it to someone from memory at this moment, I wouldn't be able to - yet, I wouldn't tell a friend to avoid it either. Its a solid beer - in an average way!

I had this a few weeks ago and thought it was ok. "Solidly average" that is funny. I think that should be a standardized beer category. The great thing about beer like Full Moon and Budweiser's American ale is that they can ease typical commercial beer drinkers folks into more adventures drinking.
