@Thomas - I'll do that. I haven't been able to locate it myself - I'm not positive that it isn't a seasonal, or a regional (hey, that rhymed!) beer. I know it was available in Massachusetts. I'd love to try it.

Now I'd be willing to find that! I live in South Jersey so if you know where I might be able to find that within a 30 mile radius let me know!

@Thomas - Golden Ales are not a favorite style of mine (Bob the Brit wrote this particular review) and in regard to Duvel, I wasn't crazy about the alcohol flavors either. There is a Duvel Green available on tap only. I've heard it is quite nice so look out for that one!

Maybe its time I revisit Duvel. When I first tried it about two years ago I liked it except for the 8.5% APV which wasn't hidden well enough in my opinion. I like the taste of beer, not necessarily of alcohol - I've tasted beers that have hidden a higher APV better. But once more, I'm willing to try this very popular Belgian Golden Ale once again.

I haven't seen the Duvel Green - I think its only something you can get on tap for now. Anyway, I popped in after having another one of these tonight (also with Mexican food!) and the head that this beer makes is just unreal. Big, white puffy thing. Good beer though.

I think I agree with you Scott, it's a bit up front with the alcohol flavor. I think it was mentioned that its 8% or so. Can't be surprised I guess! Anyone try the Duvel Green yet?

Just wanted to mention I had a Duvel tonight with my Mexican food. 'Arros con Pollo', not sure if this is the best paring, but I'm not complaining! Regarding the Duvel, I think I agree with Bob that for 'regular' Belgian drinking, the Leffe is more enjoyable. I found the alcohol really comes through in the flavor of the Duvel which is fine but not something I'm crazy about.

Aric, sorry to hear that - but there are a few beef options so its not all bad! You've had the Redbridge, and we've also tried the Bard's Tale which I thought was better overall.

Duvel recently came out with Duvel Green which is supposed to also be quite nice but I think is only available on tap. Thanks for stopping in!

Before I started my gluten-free diet, Duvel was my favorite "special-occasion" beer, and its what I will miss most about the traditional glutenous beer world. It was tops in my book.
