The beer is related in Charlie Papazian's The Complete Joy of Homebrewing (pages 95-97 in the third edition). I'm going to take a shot in the dark and guess that this is what the person who posted about the turkey beer might have been talking about. It actually originally comes from a book by Edward Spencer; The Fowling Bowl: A Treatise on Drinks of All Kinds and of All Periods, Interspersed with Sundry Anecdotes and Reminiscences.
