Beer Review – Coopers Sparkling Ale
March 28, 2009
The Coopers Sparkling Ale has a very clean taste, and has no pretensions of being something fancy and exotic. With the warmer weather coming up, I’m thinking this Coopers Sparkling Ale might make a good ‘Lawnmower Beer’. This is the same Coopers Brewery that manufactures the Coopers Microbrewery Kit, so if you were inclined to make six gallons of this beer at home, well, you can!
Beer Review – Kronenbourg Blanc
March 26, 2009
The first thing that hits you when drinking Kronenbourg Blanc is a fruity lemony nose, that is almost overpowering; there are hints of orange peel, coriander and vanilla in there, as you’d expect from a wheat beer, but they’re well hidden. The Brew Club checks out this great French Beer.
Beer Review – Kronenbourg Premier Cru
March 24, 2009
Kronenbourg is probably the strongest competitor to InBev’s Stella Artois brand in the UK premium lager market. Kronenbourg 1664 (5% ABV), is named for the year the original brewery was founded (in Strasbourg rather than Cronenbourg) and is widely available on draught in the UK.
The Brew Club gets March Madness – Update 3
March 23, 2009
The Brew Club members picked their March Madness teams, and the winner gets a nice bottle of beer from each of the other members. Pretty cool right? Its a fun way to do this month’s beer exchange, and it adds a little bit of competition to the mix.
