February wrapup, new March Poll and Spotted Dick

In addition to rating and reviewing beer, we try to engage you in other ways – and one of the things we’ve been doing for awhile at The Brew Club is run a poll each month.  I really have fun seeing the results come in, so I thought that you would too!

February’s poll, and our new poll for March are compliments of our friend Coops.  Coops is an Australian beer-lover and guest beer reviewer here at The Brew Club.  He writes some pretty good original stories in serial format, so when you’re done here go check him out and say hi!

February’s Poll asked you the simple question “I Like Beer Because” …

• 37% said “It makes me awesome”
• 32% voted that they liked beer because “It makes everything else awesome”
• 31% of those polled simply liked beer because “It is awesome”.

We had 78 total voters, so while I would say that this was a close contest,  most of you seem to like beer because it makes you awesome!  For the record, I think you are awesome even without beer! (Except for Liz, she’s not awesome.)

March’s Poll is a little different.  We are turning the poll subject inward from you, to us!  The Brew Club’s March poll wonders why you read the beer reviews and beer ratings here at The Brew Club.  We want to know, and hopefully you’ll tell us!

Also for March is a new venture from Bob the Brit!  You know Bob the Brit as the beer reviewer on The Brew Club who knows everything about beer, seems to have traveled all over the world only to drink beer, and fills his beer reviews with more background about a type of beer, or brewery than you will likely find.  Well, Bob the Brit has started a new website called, (hold on) Bob The Brit.

To quote Bob himself, “I created this site to help demystify ‘Britishness’ – I’ll do my best to educate, inform, and hopefully entertain.” Bob is born and raised British, but he’s spent a good amount of time here in the States.  Through his interactions with Americans, he’s found that even though we speak the same language (sort of), and spell stuff the same way (mostly, sort-of) there can be a lot of confusion as to why the British are just a bit different than us.  So, if you ever wondered about those strange busses, why they drive on the wrong side of the road, or what “spotted dick” is and why you might want one, Bob the Brit is the person to ask!
