I tried the Left Hand Milk Stout long ago, before I started reviewing beers, and liked it pretty well. I had Left Hand on tap the other night. I think it's great the way. I didn't like it too much in the bottle, but you may love it. I have a friend that really likes it. I sell a lot of Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout at the store I work at, but I always try to point them to the Imperial Stout...I like it a little more. Milk sugar sure is good in a beer though. Mike, I’m actively trying to get some of the Left Hand which isn’t around these parts (NJ). The Sam smiths Oatmeal Stout is definitely on the list.

My mouth is still hanging open from the last milk beer review where I was thinking, 'You drank beer with milk in it on purpose? Sounds like some sort of medieval hangover cure.' Just goes to show that you shouldn't judge something before trying it. (Which I haven't. Yet.) Keep up the variety. Especially the stuff I'm not game to break ground on. Yeah, I would say this beer didn't knock me over or anything, but I'm glad I tried it. Now I'm building an internal database of Milk Stouts which makes it easier to review because there is something to compare to. BTW, good post on the Genesee. Never thought of that.
