Great post! A music jukebox can be good for a home bar.

Those shirts are nice. I've always wanted a neon sign.

I love most of the Hitachino Nest beers I've had (particularly their White Ale and Espresso Stout. The XH sake-aged one was worthy. I also tend to dig milk/sweet stouts, so I hope to find a bottle of this soon. (I'll pass on their Ginger one, though.)

Home bar essentials? Man! I'm just trying to afford all the beer I want to get. Some day over the rainbow, maybe.

Hey Lanie, thanks for stopping by! If you ever get that bar set up, please let me know so I can move next door and be your best neighbor! Sorry about the cage thing, you have to admit though that it would dominate over a bar as the centerpiece. BTW, how's that German beer coming along? ;-)

I have only recently started following this site due, in part, to endless harrassment from Scott and because, boys, I too love beer. With that being said...please don't assume that all of your readers are men. I found the "Home Bar Essentials" piece entertaining (the cage thing was a bit over the top though LOL), well written, and full off important info for creating a good home bar experience. If I had my way (a house and some cash too), I would build a replica Irish or English pub in the basement with carved wood, stained glass, and my own refrigerated tap (see below). Nice, right?

I have been collecting various paraphernalia for five years or so in preparation for that glorious day when I can put a bar in.

I recently found a keg system with CO2 and equipment for kegging home brew for $200 on craigslist. I hope my income tax returns come in on time!

I am in total agreement about the "jaded palate" statement. I drink soda water in between beers when this happens. It isn't a cure, but it helps.
