Old Pec is 5.6% never 5.2%! Paul Theakston is also reputed to have been the main decision maker in the selling of Theakston's in the first place.

Just had my bottle of Riggwelter on July 4th of all days! I didn't drink it with all of the attention I might otherwise - this July 4th was one of the best in recent memory regarding the weather here in NJ. Mid 70's, gentle breeze and very low humidity.
The neighbors had a small fire-pit going, and the surrounding town's fireworks could be seen, heard and smelt from my spot.

So, I didn't really get to smell or look @ my Riggwelter - all things considered, but I found it to be a pleasant beer with an interesting flavor, one that I'd have again, even on the 4th of July! I think I would give it a 3.

I love both Riggwelter and Old Peculiar-- the best pint of that being from an old pub in Aberdeen.

I'm a big fan of the Theakston mild which I had at the last GBBF--I found something similar at the Shambles in Whitby. It was made by Theakston as well but was served from a keg on nitro, "super chilled"-- after it warmed up it was quite good, but I still don't know what to make of it. I kind of feel like I dreamed it or something!

I'd have to give Old Peculiar a quarter star higher rating than Riggwelter, but your ratings are pretty agreeable otherwise. These are good products but they certainly don't stand out.
