I'm going to go the other way on this one and say I liked the Pete's Wicked Strawberry Blonde quite a bit. I don't care if that makes me a girly man. I found it easy drinking and pretty delicious, despite its slightly unusual strawberry flavor.

By the way that Lancaster Milk Stout looks veryyy interesting. Trying to track that down.

Once more pushing the boundaries of beerness to its extreme. Good on ya Scott for A: purchasing this stuff, and B: giving it a decent try. Someone is always hell-bent on forging a link between fruit and beer and you do an admirable job of fairly judging these attempts.

Life would be so boring without weirdness thrown into the mix of perfection.

Keep up the essential work of our education in all that is beer. You make me more inclined to lash out into the 'strange and exotic' aisle of our liquor store.

@ Dr. Beer Love - I should really consider a rating system like you use, seems more 'keepin it real' than the star system! I love "damn bad"! :-)

I haven't found any I'm crazy about. Of the bunch, I think the blueberry ale by Blue Point brewing was the best done. I've heard of the Watermelon, I'd probably try it!

I had the 21st Amendment Watermelon wheat last nite. It was ok. The only fruit beer I've liked was the Dogfish Head Black and Blue. It's hard to make a good fruited beer and still retain some style of the base beer.

Strawberry Overkill (that would be a good name for a band). I empathize with you - Father Beer Love and I did it as well last year with our infamous Strawberry Beer Menage-a-Trois review (our 3 way strawberry beer tasting linked with my name above). Pete's Wicked Strawberry was noted as "damn bad." The whole fiasco ended with us proclaiming "I fucking hate strawberries." Too much good - no good. One to try though if you can get it is the Abita Strawberry - it's worthy.

Thanks! Seriously, it would still be a two for me. I mean, I'd give Bud at least the score you gave Strawberry Blonde. No worries though, it's still not a good beer

That Lancaster does have a nicer look. 1 star on the Pete's huh? That's interesting I'd give it a 6 out of 5 stars.
