Brews, Bros and Beer-Nevolance

Beer-Nevolance? Sure, it works!
Did you know that August 11 is Brother’s Day? I didn’t either, but now I do, and so do you! Brother’s Day was made official last year when August 11 was proclaimed a holiday in the State of Oregon and the City of Portland! What’s that have to do with a beer review site?
Well, Widmer Brothers Brewing is making it easy to show your bro you love him (or have at least learned to put up with his antics) with a line of free, snarky e-cards. Whether you’re his sister in-law or “bro,” there’s a card for any brotherly figure in your life.
What makes this especially cool is that Widmer Brothers Brewing has partnered with Big Brothers-Big Sisters to raise money in support of kids who aren’t so lucky to have a big bro in their life.
For every e-card sent, $1 will be donated to the organization! They’re hoping to raise $10,000 by Brother’s Day, which is less than a month away! So, get two good deeds in for the day! Let your brother know you’re thinking about him by sending a funny e-card while supporting a great cause at the same time!
Click on the sample e-card above to check it out and you can help spread the word by digging, stumbling or tweeting this post!

I was a “big brother” in college…good to see the brew community acting selflessly once again!

Good on you Nate. One of my best friends growing up had a ‘big brother’ and it was really a positive experience for him. Seems like an easy enough way to raise a little money for them.
