Simply Beer – New Jersey Beer Bloggers

Date October 14, 2009

Welcome to the next exciting chapter of The Brew Club’s New Jersey Beer Blog series!  Each Wednesday, we’re going to highlight a different Beer Blog from Jersey until we run out!  This week’s Jersey beer blog is Simply Beer.  Enjoy!

SimplyBeer Beer BlogSimply Beer was started in the latter part of 2008.  I had been brewing beer for about 10 years; mostly extract, not being very scientific about the process, never measured gravities or temperature.  I was just enjoying the end result, along with a lot of other people.

Friends, relatives, acquaintances, and just about everyone who had my beer were always asking me, about it.  How do you brew it?  Wow this is good, what did you do?  Which would lead to, have you tried this beer or that beer.

Born from questions and my passion to talk about beer was SimplyBeer.com.  I wanted to create a website that was, as its namesake, simply about beer.  Everything from beer education, beer opinions, homebrewing, store and bar reviews, beer food, and recently our podcast called the Beer Brawl.  The Beer Brawl is way to help people understand, that a style of beer can be so vast and different.  For each podcast we take a style or brewery, several commercially available beers for the genre and we compare them to one another.   It’s a great way to educate our selves, our palette, and listeners about beer.

My true love in beer is creating.   I love to make beer and do so every chance I get and as much as the fine state of New Jersey will allow.  While initially, my brewing was loosey-goosey, it has evolved into a hard-core obsession.  I try to experiment as much as I can with different hops, grains, yeast, and other unique ingredients.  I aspire to be one of the few NJ professional Brewers with either a brewpub or brewery, it is only a matter of time!

My name is Peter Kennedy and I love beer the way others love a great meal. It’s about the different flavors coming together to create a unique taste. It’s the creation of each recipe and the time it takes to craft that recipe into a delicious experience.

And at the end, it’s about the pour – that one great mouth watering pour!
