Thanks Nate. Unfortunately my pal Mike is vulnerable to such subtleties in products. We need to help him however we can!

Good point on the distribution angle, although I'd argue no. I think there war recently some talk about Goose Island making a distribution deal with AB, would that make them a sell-out to The Man? Do they lose craft-brewer status? I'm thinking its a different animal, but you are correct how intermingled the markets all are.

That Cookie Monster story is priceless. Seriously had me laughing out loud at my desk.

One thing I think is worth discussing is that monster is distributed by coca cola who has a deal Hansen (InBev distibution). Should coca cola be boycotted? Is there some grand conspiracy (InBev leveraging it's weight to squelch a small brewery?)

Probably not, but it is interesting to consider the connectedness of the market.

Ha! That's good Bob! The "Jersey Devil" is a local myth of this creature that seems to inhabit the New Jersey Pinelands (S. Jersey - kinda weird down there anyway - lol!) I bet if the Jersey Devil can find decent representation of find a lawyer to take the case, sure he'd sue the hockey team.

Ludicrous. It's only a matter of time before Satan tries to sue the Jersey Devils for copyright infringement and Hugo Boss takes Bruce Springsteen to court!

I think its a shame that this is happening. Its a good little business that employs a few people and they make some good beer. I don't drink energy drinks anyway, but if I did I'd be switching to Red Bull right about now.
