Just some European folklore, that's all. (Apparently Krampus and Santa worked as a team in certain areas.) I thought the beer was interesting although the more I'm reading about it the more I find that people do not think this is a lager at all! The bottle mentioned that its finished with a lager yeast??? - but lots of people think this beer is not classified correctly. Tasted IPA-ish to me.

Thanks for the story behind Krampus...no, it didn't make sense to me either.
I haven't tried it, so I don't have much to offer...there are few breweries who hop up lagers...i've done it as a homebrewer. it was ok...

Don, it may be too late for you to use Krampus to your advantage, but there's still hope for people with younger kids! Still, its was a pretty good beer in spite of its hoppiness.

Scott: were you fishing for a Pumpkin Beer comment from me? Thanks for the lesson about Krampus, what a great lesson! I wish my kids were younger so I could use him as the stick when the kids misbehaved. Now that my youngest is almost 11 it probably will loose much of its impact. Still I might try to find some Krampus stories on the internet to read on Christmas Eve. Getting a little tired of the "Night Before Christmas" after 20 years!
