Michael, that’ll work! I ended up having a couple of different coffee-flavored porters. Wasn’t planned, it just happened that way! Happy 2010!

I had the Three Floyd’s Pride And Joy Mild Ale and loved it. It’s a great craft brew that is approachable by newbie beers drinkers, but still carries enough bitterness and flavor to satisfy the more seasoned of us.
I have never heard of a “coffee flavored porter” so a few recommendations would be appreciated as I’d like to try.

Allyn, thanks for stopping in and happy 2010!
I don’t know if they are coffee-flavored, per-se, but coffee is used in the brewing process so I guess it’s baked-in. The two that I had were Pipeline Porter from Kona brewing (review on Monday) and the other was Wolaver’s “Certified Organic Alta Gracia Coffee Porter”. (review Next Monday)
While the two beers are of the same style, it was interesting that there was such a difference in flavor! One used Kona Coffee from Hawaii, the other coffee from the Dominican Republic.

Hey Guys!
Glad I found you in 2009! We tasted 9 different beers NYE. Favorite was Bells Best Brown Ale. The rest in no particular order: Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA, Bells Pale Ale, Thirsty Dog Pumpkin Ale, Unibroue Chambly Noir,
Stegmaier Winter Warmer, Indigo Imp Winter Solstice, Harpoon Hefeweizen UFO, Sierra Nevada 2009 Estate Ale.
Cheers!
John
John, glad you found us too, and thanks for sharing! That sounds like a heck of a lineup – going over your list the only one I’ve tried myself is the DFH 60 Minute IPA. I have a lot of beer to try in 2010!

Scott had a couple interesting brews. First was Laughing Dog’s Dogfather Imperial Stout, my review here: http://beerandwhiskeybros.com/2010/01/01/an-offer-you-cant-refuse/. Also had a great Lenny’s RIPA from HeBrew, and one of the Oskar Blues Can of Ten Fidy. Also very good. My reviews are here: http://beerandwhiskeybros.com/2009/12/29/drinking-in-the-super-8-motel/
Have a great 2010.

A series of unfortunate events led me to enjoy only one small glass of homebrew and that’s it…but it was delicious, especially with the thai duck the wife and I shared.
