@Nate -we must be operating on the same wavelength! I think its a style that will grow on me as well, and I'm actually hoping Mile sends some of his home brews my way sometime. You guys come up with the coolest ideas! Carrot sugar? I think that's great!

Doppelbocks REALLY grew on my the more I drank them. I've had troegs version and found it very good, but not entirely authentic. Mike brewed up an awesome double bock last year. Funny...as I was leaving this comment I got a notification you were leaving a comment on THFB.

@Billy Broas - Thanks for checking in! I'm going to take your advice and try some others. Interesting style that I enjoyed, but I need more to compare!

@Toastmaster General - Thanks! I've been eyeballing the Celebrator for some time with the little plastic goat charm on the bottle. I should probably just get it as many people seem to think is a style classic.

Troegenator is a great example of the style. Ayinger Celebrator, however, is the Doppelbockiest. If you haven't had it I highly recommend it. Doppelbocks seem to be under represented in the beer universe, but maybe it's just me and my hop addiction.

I dug up my review of this one from a couple years ago and yep, I really liked it. Like you I haven't had enough doppelbocks in my life. Would look forward to some more reviews of them on here.
