Okells is a brewery with an interesting heritage, it was founded by Doctor William Okell in 1850. Okells now have an extensive range of regular and seasonal ales and it was a source of considerable pleasure when I arrived home the other day to find a quantity of their ales waiting on my door-step!

Sam Adams Blackberry Witbier vs. Long Trail Blackberry Wheat. When I happened to find that I had not one, but TWO different blackberry wheat beers in the fridge, I just knew I had to do a head-to-head beer review!

Westmalle is considered to be the birthplace of the accepted Trappist style brews ‘Dubbel’ and ‘Tripel’ (they can’t spell in Belgium) and Westmalle Tripel is sometimes called “mother of all tripels”.

Delirium Tremens is a well known Belgian brew from the owners of the Delirium Café in Brussels. Delirium Tremens itself is distinctive, with a bottle that looks ceramic and has a blue foil cap. The label is decorated with pink elephants and alligators wearing shades that should give you a clue that we’re not expecting anything subtle here.
