@Royce – perhaps. I tried bottles of this beer @ all times of the day, but not breakfast. Maybe I’m missing the obvious by not following the instructions! (Still, it wasn’t that good)

Sorry to hear you didn’t like this beer.

I completely support the notion of a ‘Breakfast Ale’ and desire more of them in the marketplace. You didn’t have this beer with breakfast?? Maybe that’s why it didn’t do it for you?

Head brewer Keith at Hunter Beer Co here in Australia describes his Kolsch as his breakfast beer!! He hasn't actually taken it as far as calling it "Breakfast Ale" but interesting to see some has! Beer Cartel Beer Club

@Don – sounds like we did! Now that I think of it, I could have saved a lot of time on this review by just using one word. Lackluster.

Sounds like a lack luster brew. I had one of those this weekend too. I’ll be posting about my Washington brew later this week. Looks like we’ve bracketed the country with mediocre beer…

I have not had this been in a long time, it’s not the best beer in the world , but does go surprisingly well with Bacon Eggs & Home fries (i was on vacation at the time, WHAT! Don’t look at my post funny!)

That's a tough assessment Jim, but I appreciate the straight-talk. I'd say that 'lackluster' was apt for the breakfast ale certainly. I’ve had good or even great beers from local NJ breweries, Scott, but none from Cricket Hill. I want to like these guys, but everything I’ve had is pretty lackluster and unimaginative. If you’re going to brew “basic” beers, you’d better do it very well (like Ramstein or Victory in PA). In my experience Cricket Hill doesn’t.
