Wow! It’s been just about a year since we did anything with our New Jersey Beer Blog series! Just when I thought I had everyone included, I’m contacted by Meredith who runs Beerproof! Turns out that new beer blogs are coming online all the time, so it should be no surprise that some of them are based in Jersey, right? So, without further delay, let me introduce you to New Jersey’s own Beerproof!
Have you ever
walked down an aisle at a liquor store trying to figure out what you’ve liked and what you didn’t and can’t figure out what to buy?
This was my problem. I would constantly come home with six-packs of beer that I thought I had tried and I liked, but a few sips in, remembered that it was wretched (okay, maybe that’s a little strong, but you get the point).
I started Beerproof basically to combat this problem. I wanted a way to keep track of what I’ve drank and what I’ve liked and disliked. I also wanted a place to list which beers that I wanted to try, so that I could stop walking aimlessly down aisles grabbing random bottles. This expanded to wanting to keep track of where I can drink good beers and buy them.
I’ve read (and continue to read) a lot of great beer blogs. I wanted to make mine unique, rather than just reading the basics of a review blog. I’m a bit of a history buff, so I figured on every entry, I would include a bit of trivia to break up the monotony. This allowed me to either get to know something about the brewery, the style, the ingredients or even the graphics on the label.
I also included a random thing, whether it was related to something I was watching or something I found funny at the time. I thought that if I made the blog a little more personal, it would promote interest.
I’ve been drinking craft beer for about a year or two. I started drinking Magic Hat #9 and I was hooked. After reading so many great blogs, I learned to appreciate and document the nuances of each beer, and I’ve also used my blog to reach out to friends that don’t venture far from a Coors Light and get them to try something new.
Style-wise, I would say that my favorite beer-type is a good IPA, but I also enjoy stouts, saisons and Belgians, but I’m willing to try anything. My name is beerproof and I love craft beer!

Very nice find. As you say, being in NJ you pump your fists and not your gas!
@Meile – true, we do not pump our gas! Nice to see another Jersey beer blog though!
