Well, I know that many of you who should be working right now are actually thinking about doing some online gift shopping. First, I’d like to thank you for reading this post before you start shopping, or actually working (you have your priorities in order) and second, I’d like to make it easier for you if you’re buying gifts for someone who loves beer. Heck, that might even be a gift for you!
Last year, we brainstormed a bit and put together a list of 10 cool gifts for beer lovers. You can follow that link if you’d like for ideas because this year its up to 12 cool gifts for beer lovers! (That’s like a 20% increase in ideas or something.)
But, I know you’re in a hurry. So, I’ll chuck up a few of the most popular, most beery gifts you can get online, right here in one spot. Just for you. Take advantage, or use it as an idea for your own thing. Its all good.
Let’s begin. A quick 1-2-3.
1) Very cool, and very thoughtful is the Beer of the Month Club as a gift. There are several options to choose from depending on your beer-drinking preference, and the prices seem reasonable enough. It seems nowadays, its easier than ever to find good craft beer locally, but if you’re not able or willing to shop for it yourself, this might be a good thing to consider trying.
2) My second most favorite beer gift idea is the home brewing kit from Coopers. Say what you will about the all in one kits, but the Coopers kit is pretty good for the price. I tried it myself for the first time last Fall, and I was able to crank out 6 gallons of very good Lager right in my own kitchen. (No
explosions!) I know a lot of folks will poo-poo the Coopers beer brewing kit in favor of something that resembles a full-blown science lab and costs hundreds of dollars more, but for the first-time beer brewer, I think it’s a really smart choice.
For around $100, you get all the stuff you need for your first batch, and its stupid-simple. (Hey, I did it!) Also, if you find that the cost (time and money) of making your own beer isn’t for you, you’re really not in bad shape if the kit sits in the basement. Its a great kit to dip your toe into the home brewing hobby. If you want to check out all the other stuff you can buy for the Coopers Home Brew Kit, (different beer style kits, additional sugar, new bottles, refills for that next batch) check out All Beer Kits.com for an easy listings of the Coopers lineup.
3) The third gift is really the most affordable, and has the most options available for you to a) make a beer lover happy, and b) spend as much or as little as you like.
The third gift idea is Beer Glasses. Simple, right? When I first started reviewing beers, I only had iced tea glasses. OK, that’s not a huge deal, I
mean, do beer glasses really matter? Well, if you care about style, it most certainly does! There are a ton of different beer glasses for you to choose, and even some variety kits that have a glass or two of the most popular styles. And like I said, there is a huge price range among Beer Glasses, so can find something that suits your own budget and won’t ding the wallet too hard!
So, there you have it. My personal top three coolest gifts for beer lovers. As I mentioned, if you need more ideas, you can pop over and check out the rest of the very thoughtful gifts for beer drinkers list if you have the time, but I know you want to get busy with the shopping. Or work. I forget.
Oh, and just so you know, if you purchase something from one of the sites I mentioned above and (hopefully) buy something, I do get a commission from the sale. Its not a lot, but every bit helps keep The Brew Club going and perhaps pays for a beer or two for myself to enjoy! I wouldn’t waste time recommending products or services that suck and I’ve actually purchased all of the products or services above for myself at one time or another. Just look at how cool my beer glasses are now! No ice tea glasses for me anymore!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

I know beer glasses are on my wish list this year, I have collected a few here and there but a decent set of pint, and maybe pilsner glasses would cover my needs pretty well.
.-= Wolfman-K´s last blog ..beer lensHey rob I think we just got a todo list =-.
@Wolfman-K, I always dig new beer glasses even if I don’t need them. I’m starting to collect different pint glasses from my favorite breweries which has given me an excess of ping glasses – but its still cool i think. Its an easy gift, really. Cheers!

Good list. I’ve also tried the Mr. Beer kit, but found the Coopers kit to be much, much better. I’d say I use it about 4 times per year and will mention that I also got it as a birthday gift. Happy me!
@meile – thanks again for stopping by! I haven’t tried the Mr. Beer kit so I can’t really speak of it, but I can say I was also happy with the Coopers kit. Worked every time. (twice so far) The only suggestion I would make to those considering the kit would be to buy an additional ‘beer kit’ because the kit comes with the Lager package. That’s cool if you love lagers, but if you don’t 6 gallons of lager is a lot to go through. Thankfully, some friends helped with my excess inventory problem!
