A few months back, I participated in a project to help a person’s dream come true. Erik Myers of Top Fermented had the dream of starting his own craft brewery and he harnessed the powers of a website called Kickstarter to raise the needed funds to get the ball rolling on his new endeavor – Mystery Brewing Company.
I’m happy to report that the Kickstarter project was a great success! Erik was able to surpass the significant sum of money he needed to raise through the donations of funds by 243 different people! (Even one guy from England chipped in!) That’s very cool!
So, as a way to say thank you for pitching in, people who gave money were sent some neat Mystery Brewing swag like the fancy beer glass and industrial-strength bottle opener that you see in the picture here! From now on, every time I crack open a beer at home, I’ll be reminded to check in on Erik’s progress!
In addition, I received a T-shirt, some Mystery Brewing stickers to mar the public spaces, a mention on the ‘backers’ page of the Mystery Brewing website, and a neat certificate that recognized my small contribution to the cause.
Overall, a very nice thank you package. If Erik’s beers are as well thought out as his tank-you kits, I have no doubt he’ll have great success crafting his beers.
Good luck, Erik. I’m hoping I can find your hand-crafted beers here in New Jersey someday! BTW, the beer in the glass is Sierra Nevada Celebration 2010. I thought it was a good choice for the occasion.
