Its Summer. I always thought a great Summer beer was the Hefeweizen, and I always thought the best Hefeweizen around was Sierra Nevada’s Kellerweis.
I simply love the stuff! In every way, its just about the perfect summer beer, and what’s better is that its available year-round!
But, helping to run a site like this, its hard to share new Hefeweizen experiences if I only keep buying this one! I’ve had a few, but what I’m looking for is suggestions from you!
I know many people might suggest sticking with the Germans, and they’d be right.
For the most part, you can’t beat the Erdinger or Weihenstephaner classics! But, we’ve already reviewed them here, AND I’m looking to find another American craft beer that can stand up to my beloved Kellerweis.
So, what say you? What’s a great American hefe that should be on my shopping list?

beer…“Light, tasty & full of character, our summer wheat ale is brewed with a combination of domestic and continental wheat and barley malts, lightly hopped & fermented with a Belgian wit yeast, resulting in a delightfully tangy & refreshing flavor.”
