Poll – Craft Beer or Milk for Santa?

Date December 24, 2011

Well, here it is Christmas Eve and I have something of a dilemma on hand.  I was thinking of leaving Santa a nice craft beer in the fridge in place of the typical milk and cookies usually left out.  What do you think?  Good idea?

Are you leaving Santa craft beer instead of cookies & milk?

I know, I know, you shouldn’t drink and drive, or fly sleighs, but I’m pretty sure Santa is up on all the laws and would not overdo it anyway because that’s the type of guy he is.

Beer or Cookies for Santa? In fact, I met him just a few nights ago at a local mall (my Daughter did not care for him, sorry Santa, she’s kinda young) and he seemed like a guy who has a good deal of common sense and self-control.  Except for maybe one-too-many jelly donuts.

If I do it, the bottle would be closed and if he’s not up to enjoying a nice beer in the middle of the night, he can just take it with him.  So long as it isn’t an open container, he should be good-to-go as he’s flying over New Jersey.

Optionally, Santa can just give the beer to a poor soul who has yet to discover the joy of good beer.  I don’t see how it could be a bad thing.

Now for the next decision.  What beer to leave him?

At first, I thought one of those Santa-themed beers, but they don’t really paint him in a good light.  Then I thought one of those nice Christmassy beers I enjoy like Delirium Noel.  Hmmm.  Wait, I know!  How about a nice Milk Stout?  A milk stout and cookies sound pretty good right about now.  Maybe Santa will be getting milk after all!

Anyway, thanks for playing, and have a Merry and safe Christmas!

At my house, I suspect that Santa might be enjoying a bottle of the Brewdog Christmas Porter I tried last week.
