Just a quick post to see what people were choosing to help ring in the New Year? Craft beer? Champagne? A little of both?
Personally, I haven’t decided yet. I’m sure there will be some general craft beer imbibing, but “the” drink is still up in the air although Celebrator is a strong favorite at this particular time. I know a few people are going the Sam Adams Infinium route too, which makes sense I guess. (Most people who tries it seemed to like it.)
So why not let us know what you’re toasting the New Year with?
Have a safe, and happy 2012!

I’d love to go the Infinium route, but still not seen a bottle.
Tonight we’re off to my local Village Hall, hopefully they’ll have something interesting from Wibblers, which is one of our up and coming local brewers.
Tomorrow, I have a bottle of Meantime’s special ‘Hospital Porter’ which I’ll be reviewing for The Brewclub.
Nice, Bob. I decided on my bottle of Stone Russian Imperial Stout. Great beer I think and everything an Imperial Stout should be! Happy 2012 (again)!!!
Went with: Great Divide’s Hercules Double IPA; Pretty Things Jack D’or & Firestone Walker’s Reserve Robust Porter! All three were excellent! I had fun tasting a variety of styles with my husband. His favorite of the night was the porter & I would easily have all of them again! Happy 2012!
Thomas Hardy’s 2007 vintage. Still mind blowing. Quite sad they don’t make it anymore.
New Year’s Eve is one of the few days of the year on which I’ve generally abstained from alcohol entirely (it is the equivalent of “amateur night”. LOL)
Today however (New Year’s Day), I cracked open a bottle of Barleywine that I made 15 years ago. I don’t know if I’m getting any better with age at this point, but that beer sure did hit the spot.
@Cecily – Very nice selections! Of the bunch, I think I have the Firestone Walker’s Porter downstairs that I’ll get to eventually!
@Son Beer Love – Great choice! I didn’t know it wasn’t being made anymore. That’s a shame and now it seems I’ll never get to try it!
@The Professor – Cool! 15 year old Barleywine! I bet that beer was even better considering its something you made yourself. Did you intend to let it age that long, or was it a decision you just made for the new year?
Happy 2012 all!
