Well, it seems we’ve finally wrapped up The Beer Hunter videos from the 1989 TV series, and I got to watching other videos of the late Michael Jackson.
This video is a condensed version of an interview, less about beer, and more about the man who was facing Parkenson’s disease with dignity and strength.
Definitely worth a watch.
And here’s what Sam Calagione had to say about Michael Jackson.

As I’ve written before, I was fortunate enough to have met and drunk with Michael on several occasions; once, like this film, at his home in West London.
He was one of the nicest people one ever could hope to drink with, he was witty, charming, self-effacing and, of course well informed.
@Bob – you’re a lucky fellow. I’m glad I know of him now, I only wish I had that insight back then. An amazing man indeed.
I had the honor & privledge to have met Michael @Windows on the World atop the World Trade Center – it was for a beer/food pairing – it was fun, tasty & Michael was funny, interesting & of course, brilliant in his knowledge of the wonderful world of beer & brewing. At that time I was working from 4 – 12:30 am & I didn’t hesitate to “call in sick” that afternoon (for this once in a lifetime opportunity to be in the company of the world’s foremost authority on beer – May Me Jacson R.I.P. in Beer Heaven….
@Jeff – That’s a great story! Again, I only wish I knew of him back then. Unfortunately, I didn’t really know of him until after his passing.
I don’t live all that far from Manhattan, and I would have loved to attend an event like that! Lucky you!
