I’m conscious that many Brewclub readers are from the (ahem) colonies – indeed The Brewclub was founded in New Jersey, but I know that we have many readers from here in Blighty, and I suspect that more than a few have dabbled in homebrewing.
One of my favourite local breweries started out as a homebrew set up, using a tea urn (how very British) and are now running a 20 barrel plant.
I’ve also written about Thornbridge and Waitrose’s Homebrew Challenges over the last two years. The challenges have resulted in a couple of excellent brews, a ‘Vienna IPA‘ in 2014, and a Rhubarb flavoured Saison in 2015.
Well, it’s that time again, time for homebrewers to dust off their mash tubs and potentially check out their vegetable patch. The competition closes on August 30th, and details can be found here.
Based on the last two winners, I look forward to tasting this year’s.
