Initially, the flavour starts very much like Kipling, slightly sweet and citrussy, before the promised tartness kicks in, lemon and grapefruit juice, but not as grapefruity (is that a word?) as, say, Brewdog’s “Elvis Juice”.

Remember when you first tasted an Amarillo beer? You could impress your mates by asking ‘can you taste grapefruit?’ – well those days are gone as more complex flavour combinations are coming through. Yes the Amarillo and Citra hops complement the grapefruit peel, but the Mosaic and Simcoe hops add a rewarding complexity.

The flavour doesn’t disappoint, there are bucketloads of hops in here, underpinned by a yeasty malty base, those hops were not sacrificed in vain, it’s fruity, spicy and warming.
